Can I change the location or caption I see on the listing photo?

Yes! Our captions and maps shown in product shots are just ideas to get you started. You can either choose the stock caption options or come up with your own quote, date, or other meaningful phrase you'd like to use as a caption. Once you've selected your caption, let us know which locations you'd like to see!

What are the maps printed on?

Our maps are printed directly on wood, meaning you will see a level of quality and durability that sets us apart from other shops! Each wood print comes with a handmade wooden frame and will arrive ready to hang - no expert mounting required. We also offer unframed paper prints, and we use gallery-quality archival watercolor paper.

Will I receive a design proof before my order is printed?

Yes! We will contact you through the email provided at checkout with a digital proof before we print or ship your map. Check your spam folder for an email from us as well so your proof doesn’t get lost out there!

Please note - if we haven't received any feedback or change requests after 30 days of the proof being sent, we will print and ship your map as-is without any changes.

The cost of each custom piece of art includes up to three proofs total to accommodate reasonable changes requested by the customer.

What kind of maps do you use? May I send you maps to use in my print?

We use high resolution, detailed, vintage topographic or atlas maps in the public domain. We are sometimes able to use maps provided by a customer - if it is copyright-free, it fits within one of our designs, and it maintains a high enough resolution for great print quality. We don't typically use or have access to trail/hiking maps due to the above restrictions. We cannot guarantee a specific color or style map is available for each location in the world, but we do have a very extensive map library!

Can you make my print look like a specific mountain that I request?

While we'd love to be able to create a new template for each order for these requests, we do not make mountains to look like a specific mountain formation (i.e. Half Dome, K2, Mt. Rainier, etc.) due to the time we already devote to each order and our high order volume. We have templates that we have created for each number of mountains selected at the time of ordering.

Will expedited shipping get my order out sooner?

No - expedited shipping will not expedite the design or printing time quoted. If you're in a hurry, let us know and we will make every attempt to ship your order as soon as possible, and make sure you approve your proof right away! However, purchasing express shipping will only cut down time spent in Postal Service limbo once it leaves our shop.

Note that all orders ship from Michigan, and the shipping time for U.S. orders is 2-3 days with USPS Priority shipping.

**COVID UPDATE** The USPS has been experiencing delays in shipping and will need more time to deliver- please try to order ahead of when you need it. Thank you for your patience!

I made a mistake and already approved the proof - now what??

After you approve the proof that we send to you, your order goes into our processing queue for printing, framing, and shipping. If you made a mistake on the text, location, or design, you can order a new print at-cost, which will include labor, materials, and shipping.

Make sure you let us know as soon as you catch an error post proof approval as printing time varies and we may be able to grab it from the queue, saving us all a lot of time :)

What if my order was damaged in transit?

Let us know right away! In cases of lost, late, or damaged prints, we will file a claim with the USPS. Your action is not needed, and we will take care of things on our end!

If your print was damaged in transit by USPS, please send us photos of the damaged packaging and print. We will make sure a new print is on its way to you as soon as we can.

What if I want to cancel or return my order?

We will offer a full refund for cancellations made within 12 hours of purchase.*

*If your proof has already been created and sent to you, you will be refunded all but $25. We put a lot of care and time into each custom piece, and this will help cover our time as well as our original artwork! We do not offer refunds on rush design fees.

We cannot accept returns for personalized orders.
